The Ceramics Minor is designed for non-art majors looking to develop their skills or deepen their interest in ceramics. To complete the minor, students must fulfill 18 credit hours of studio classes within the Art Department. You'll work with the Art Department Chair or designated faculty to plan your coursework. The curriculum includes foundational and advanced courses in ceramics, such as Three-Dimensional Design, Wheel Throwing, and Ceramic Chemistry, providing a comprehensive experience in the art of ceramics.

Dower Center Studios
Step into Dower 168, our 1,200 square foot ceramics studio designed for both novice and experienced potters. Equipped with an electric kiln, a Baily Deluxe gas-fired kiln, and ten pottery wheels, this expansive space is ideal for exploring and mastering ceramics. With dedicated glazing rooms and a focus on wheel throwing, our studio offers an optimal environment for creativity and hands-on learning in the world of ceramics.
