Emergency Preparedness and Response

Have an Emergency?

Call University Police at 413-572-5262

What Does the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response Do?

The Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response leads mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in collaboration with campus and community partners in order to cultivate a disaster resilient University.

Emergency Notification System

In the event of a campus emergency, the Emergency Notification System will be activated. The first priority of the University is to respond to the incident, direct members of the campus community to the appropriate action (whether shelter-in-place, evacuation, or other action), and then to keep members of the campus community, parents, neighbors, and the public informed.

What's that Alarm?

The alarm boxes on campus allow University Police to communicate directly through audible voice instructions. When the emergency notification system is activated the amber light will flash. When the fire alarm system is activated the white light will flash.
