Student Leadership Awards

Celebrate the Impact of Our Students at Westfield State University!

Each year, our students make incredible contributions to Westfield State University, whether through academic achievements, leadership, social engagement, or club involvement. This year, we're taking a new approach to student recognition - and we want YOU to help us celebrate the diverse ways in which our students make a difference!

How to Nominate: We invite all members of the campus community to submit nominations for students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and effort, whether individually or as part of a group. Students can be nominated for more than one award, and groups, clubs or organizations are welcome to be nominated as well. If you are nominating a group, please be sure to include the names of all participating students.

Important Dates:

Deadline for Nominations: April 11th

Nominations accepted: Self-nominations and nominations from faculty, staff, and fellow students are encouraged.

Why Nominate? This is an excellent opportunity to honor the achievements of students who are making a positive impact in our academic, social, and extracurricular environments. Whether it's for their leadership in a club, their academic excellence, or their contributions to making our campus a more inclusive and vibrant place, now is the time to recognize those who go above and beyond.

Let's work together to celebrate our students and their remarkable contributions to the Westfield State community. Submit your nominations through the form below today!

A Message from the Dean of Students

Maggie Balch, Dean of Students,

College is time of growth and discovery. If you look around our community, you will see learning takes place everywhere: classrooms, studios, labs, residence halls, the student center and the dining facilities. As your Dean of Students, I, and my team, are interested and invested in you. We are focused on your co-curricular experiences—the growth and self-discovery that happens outside of traditional class time. We are here to be resources, advocates and strive to create a strong sense of belonging and community for all University members.

As a Student Affairs team we are dedicated to ensuring the University is a safe, vibrant and inclusive community where principles of citizenship, self-advocacy and self-actualization are at the core of every student’s experience.

During your time at Westfield, you will work with outstanding faculty who will push you to new intellectual levels, expose you to different ways of thinking and will cognitively prepare you for your first career. I hope you will engage in all the wonderful opportunities Westfield has to offer. Please contact me at 413-572-5421 if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Maggie Balch, Dean of Students
