Art Education Program of Study
Students wishing to be licensed to teach visual art, must complete:
- All the requirements of the Art major.
- An additional 36 credit teacher preparation sequence for either Elementary (Pre-K to 8) or Secondary (5-12) licensure, as follows:

Note: If you requested admission to the Visual Arts Education, Initial PreK-8 or 5-12, Post-baccalaureate Licensure Program, applicants must successfully pass a portfolio review by the Art Department's faculty. The Art Department will notify GCE when your portfolio has been approved. Please go to the Art Department's Website to submit your portfolio.
