Westfield State recognized by 2022 College Factual among ‘Best Colleges’ rankings for excellence of academic programs

Several Westfield State University academic programs are recognized among the top tier in the country for academic excellence, graduate employment rates and earnings, student debt, and repayment rates, among other outcomes, according to statistics website College Factual in its 2022 rankings. 

Westfield State’s graduate programs in social work and history (education) stand out at #1 in the best value category; and undergraduate programs in health service/science allied health (health sciences) and sociology are also ranked #1 for best value. The undergraduate criminal justice program is ranked #10 among the “Best Criminal Justice Studies Schools” in the nation.

College Factual’s rankings use numerous indicators of quality in its analysis, including student graduation rate, student debt, and repayment rates, and graduate employment rates and earnings. This year, College Factual analyzed over 2,576 schools to determine the best in the country for each degree level and for over 1,700 distinct majors. Schools scoring in the top 15 percent of those analyzed are recognized.

“The Best Schools rankings were created with objective, outcomes-based data,” said College Factual CEO Bill Phelan. “They were designed with student success in mind to reward colleges like Westfield State University that offer an excellent education proven by student success.”

Westfield State is also ranked #8 out of 1,301 in the “Best Master’s Degree College for the Money” category, putting it among the top 1 percent of institutions nationwide. The University offers master’s degrees in accounting, applied behavior analysis, counseling, criminal justice, education (including academic disciplines), English, physician assistant studies, public administration, and social work.
