Westfield State University announces appointment of Chris Montemayor to Board of Trustees as alumni trustee
WESTFIELD—The Westfield State University Alumni Association has elected Chris Montemayor ’90, ’11 to serve as its alumni representative to the University’s Board of Trustees.
Montemayor is senior vice president of rental assistance programs at Way Finders, Inc. Prior to joining Way Finders in 2011, Montemayor was chief financial officer for HCS Head Start.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Montemayor to the Board. He brings a combination of loyalty to Westfield as a former student who earned two degrees at the University as well as a strong background in finance and management,” said Dr. Robert Martin, chair of the Westfield State University Board of Trustees.
In addition to the B.S. in business management that he earned in 1990 from Westfield State, Montemayor also holds an M.P.A. in public administration, also from Westfield State University.
"I am thankful and honored for the opportunity to share my perspective as an alum with this prestigious growing university. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow trustees to ensure the voices of our students and alumni are heard," said Montemayor.
Montemayor is member and co-chair of the rental assistance committee for the Regional Housing Network and also head men’s basketball coach at Holyoke Community College.
