This course explores cultural, social, and historical themes such as identity politics, race, ethnicity, social class, and gender within the context of the Spanish-speaking world.
In addition to the core course, students will complete 15 credits in LSPA coursework, exploring topics such as the impact of colonialism on identity, the historical and cultural experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities in the U.S., and the relationship between Anglo-American and Latin American societies. Courses also examine various literary, artistic, and cultural traditions within the Spanish-speaking world.
