Thomas Roscoe

Dr. Roscoe teaches courses in corrections, probation and parole, restorative justice, evaluating criminal offenders, and planned change in criminal justice. His current research interests center around the application of theory to practical issues facing probation and parole departments. Dr. Roscoe has published articles dealing with probation and community policing. His doctoral dissertation, Driving and Resisting Forces in Rationalizing Probation: A Case Study of Probation in New York State, was based on a three-year collaborative research project with New York probation practitioners, involving goal clarification and measurement at the organizational level. Dr. Roscoe is in the process of submitting articles based on research from the New York State Probation Outcomes Project for publication. Dr. Roscoe previously worked as a chief probation officer in the State of Connecticut Judicial Department.
