How do I qualify for admission?
To be considered for admission, you have to meet one of the following criteria:
- 12-23 transferable college credits and minimum 2.5 GPA
- Up to 23 transferable college credits, a minimum 2.0 college GPA, and must meet the admission standards for freshman: including high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores
- 24 or more transferable credits and a minimum of a 2.0 college GPA
How many credits will transfer?
- Up to 90 credits from four-year regionally accredited colleges and universities
- Up to 79 credits from two-year regionally accredited institutions
What courses will transfer?
- Grades C- or higher will transfer
- D grades or higher will transfer for qualified MassTransfer students as part of the 60 credit guarantee
- Developmental basic-skills and high school-level courses are not transferable
- Westfield also considers credits for military, Advanced Placement, and CLEP
How are transfer credits evaluated?
Accepted students will receive a preliminary transfer credit audit upon admission. If you have questions about your audit, please contact your admission counselor.
Do I have to submit transcripts from my previous institution if my grades aren’t especially impressive or I withdrew prior to earning credit?
Yes. We require that all previous college and university official transcripts are submitted regardless of grades or withdrawals. However, when making an admission decision we do take into consideration the time frame in which courses were previously taken and whether there has been any improvement over a period of time.
