Founded in 1968, the LEAD Scholars Program, formerly known as the Urban Education Program, initially aimed to provide college access, mentoring, and academic advising to students of color during a turbulent social climate. Evolving over time, the program now extends its holistic support services to all students who identify as first-generation or demonstrate financial need. Embracing diversity in ethnic and educational backgrounds, the LEAD Scholars Program is dedicated to increasing the representation of historically excluded populations in higher education.
